Possible Solutions For Global Warming
There is no single solution to global warming, which is primarily a problem of too much heat-trapping carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere.

  • Boosting energy efficiency: The energy used to power, heat, and cool our homes, businesses, and industries is the single largest contributor to global warming. Energy efficiency technologies allow us to use less energy to get the same—or higher—level of production, service, and comfort. This approach has vast potential to save both energy and money, and can be deployed quickly.
  • Managing forests and agriculture: Taken together, tropical deforestation and emissions from agriculture represent nearly 30 percent of the world's heat-trapping emissions. We can fight global warming by reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and by making our food production practices more sustainable.
  • Drive as little as possible. Do your best to walk, bike, carpool, or use public transit whenever possible, and combine errands into geographic bundles to make fewer trips.
  • Replacing your light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs, which last 10 times as long. A compact fluorescent, though more expensive up front, will lower your energy bills by about $15 a year and keep significant amounts of Carbon Dioxide out of the air.
  • Using energy-efficient appliances. When you buy refrigerators, washers and driers, or other household appliances, look for the Energy Star label, which identifies the most efficient appliances. Use the Energy Guide labels to compare model efficiency. Refrigerators are the biggest consumers of electricity in most homes, and new models use less than a quarter of the energy of models built 30 years ago; an upgrade could mean big energy and cost savings

Possible Solutions For Animal Extinctions

·         Defending and strengthening the Endangered Species Act, which provides an essential legal safety net to prevent the loss of plant and animal species to extinction.

·         Holding federal agencies and others accountable for complying with laws protecting rare and endangered species using cooperation, persuasion, and--where necessary--litigation.

·         Advocating for increased funding for private landowner incentives and other conservation programs that benefit endangered species.

·         Protecting and restoring the habitats on which endangered species and other wildlife depend for their survival, and encouraging wildlife-friendly land management practices.

·         Reducing threats to wildlife that can lead to their endangerment and extinction, such as loss of habitat, contamination of water and spread of invasive species.

·         Recycle and buy sustainable products Buy recycled paper, sustainable products like bamboo and Forest Stewardship Council wood products to protect forest species. Never buy furniture made from wood from rainforests. Recycle your cell phones, because a mineral used in cell phones and other electronics is mined in gorilla habitat. Minimize your use of palm oil because forests where tigers live are being cut down to plant palm plantations.

Possible Solutions For Deforestation
·        Corporations & Markets
If corporations have the ability to destroy the world's intact forests, they also have the power to help save them.Companies can make an impact by introducing zero-deforestation policies that require suppliers to produce commodities such as timber, beef, soy, palm oil and paper fiber in a way that has a minimal impact on natural forests and the climate. Companies can also introduce paper procurement policies that set ambitious targets to maximize use of post consumer recycled wood, pulp, paper and fiber in their products and ensure that any virgin fiber used is certified by a rigorous third party certification system.
·        Sustainable consumer options
Even you as an individual can make a difference in saving forests by setting the best example . It is a crucial part of the solution to ending worldwide deforestation. As a consumer, you have the power to put pressure on companies that have bad environmental practices. By buying recycled or certified wood products, only supporting brands with zero deforestation policies, and getting others to do the same you send a message to companies to embrace zero deforestation policies.
·        Politics
In order to achieve zero deforestation by 2020 we need ambitious and science-based domestic and international forest policies from our government.

We use U.S. laws like the Wilderness Act, Lacey Act  and the Roadless Rule to protect U.S. forests and stop illegal wood products from entering the U.S. marketplace.
